Homeowner Site Preparation

There are a few things a homeowner can do to assist in the completion of the roofing process they are as follows;

1.) Make sure the grass is mowed and leaves are raked so nails don't nestle down in them. We take great efforts to collect all of the fasteners from the grass and other landscaping by using roller magnets and putting down tarps, but some nails do get away from us. Please wear and advise your children and family members to wear shoes while around the house for at least 1 year following your project.

2.) Have bushes and trees trimmed for easy access to your roof and siding.

3.) Move any and all breakables away from the areas within 20 feet of the house. This includes any yard ornaments, grills, patio furniture and potted plants.

4.) We suggest removing and/or covering any items stored in the attic (due to the falling of finer grit between cracks and gaps in plywood and plank boards). This is especially the case when we install ridge style vent when sawdust falls into the attic.

5.) Due to the occurrence of vibration and slight movement in buildings during the roofing/siding process, it is the responsibility of the building owner/resident to secure or remove any and all breakables from walls and ceilings, including moving any furniture items away from walls that may contain breakable items. NOTE: All items damaged on the interior of the building due to vibration are the responsibility of the building owner/resident and will not be replaced, repaired or paid for by Jarvis Exteriors.

6.) Electricity must be made readily available to workers on days when work is to be completed.
NOTE
:
Not all exterior outlets are operable when the interior light switch that operates the porch light is turned off.

7.) Please remove any vehicles from the garage and away from the work area on the material delivery date and on the job date.

8.) Due to the inconsistency of driveway construction, be it asphalt, concrete or other, Jarvis Exteriors , Inc. will not be held responsible for any damage done to driveways in the form of dents, cracks, scratches, marks, etc. Note: ( A properly installed driveway will withstand the weight of any vehicle or debris hauling device, loaded or unloaded.)

9.) Jarvis Exteriors, Inc. will not be held responsible for compression or decompression of the home resulting in walls or floors cracking. Note: This includes any and all drywall damage, screw or nail pops, cracks, etc. It must be noted that nearly all drywall cracks, screw or nail pops, and the like are the result of improper or insufficient fastener installation in either the framing or the drywall itself.
